i recently hoed a used iron set that had TT tri gold in them . AFAIK theses were introduced about 7 - 8 years ago as an alternative to Rifle flighted shaft and were discontinued after a few years.

Anybody here ever use these shafts in the past  or any clubmakers here familiar with them? The only real info I could find on them is that they were a progressive weighted design , lightest in the long irons and heavier in the short irons.

An ascending weight shaft that just never really took off.  A lot of things going on with that shaft that many of my customers said left it a terrible feeling shaft.  Ascending weight, Progressive Flex, variable tip stiffness, discreet lengths and bend points.  A .370 parallel tip also left clubmakers scratching their heads, especially ones that didn't want to ream TT hosel diameters...  Can be had cheap at numerous locations...

They actually make pretty good wedge shafts, but I would not put them in anything else. There is a reason these shafts were tanked.........

There is always someone that loves something despite what others say. I love the old Fiberspeed 2000 shafts, but can't seem to find them anymore for some reason.

Well if you look at it like this, there is no such thing as a bad product. Products just fit different people. The Tri Gold just happened not to fit enough for True Temper to keep producing it. Honestly, the Dynamic Gold is being played by a lot of players that it really does not fit well, but due to a large tour acceptance...............

IMO, the best feeling shafts TT ever made.  Still play them in my hybrids and they aren't going anywhere.

Had them in a set of SMT 303 CB1's and regret getting rid of them they played very well,  I kept the wedges with them in it but just a great set of shafts to me, But I like Dynalite gold as well

Ping G10 Irons have steel shafts with AWT(ascending weight technology) and attempts to find out who makes these shafts for Ping have failed. Does anyone know the step pattern for the Tri-Gold shafts so a comparison could be made with the G10 shafts? A friend has demo'ed the G10 irons with AWT shafts and he liked the feel. I'm not sure how many clubs he actually hit as it was indoor on a launch monitor. help
