Such a nice day today.  To bad I was still drunk
from last night to enjoy it!!   laugh

Wasn't the worst day, 77 but zero birdie's!  russian

Twice I leaned over to putt and had to stand back
up cause my head was spinning.

Ended up playing a course that I had never played before.  Mini verde bermuda greens that were hard as concrete, and rolling about an 11.  Really fast for this early in the season for us.  Course was about 6800 yards or so, but the slope was 134 with a rating of 73.8.  The course is called Pinewood Country Club.  Not a bad track, and some interesting undulations on the greens.  Ended up shooting 75 with 3 birdies on par 5's.  The part of my game that sucked was that I had 35 putts with two 3 putts.  I ended up winning the tournament, so I couldn't complain too much.

Played The Links at Northfork, Ramsey, MN. Nice day. I was the lone white guy in a group of 7 Pakistani guys.  laugh
Totally schizophrenic front 9. Bogey, bogey, birdie, birdie, double bogey, par, birdie, par, birdie for an even 36.   shocking laugh
Started the back 9 with a birdie, but that was it for the magic, +4 40 on the back for a 76.
Played the Cobra Pro CB's with Pxi 6.0 shafts for the first time and they worked nicely.  clapping

Got a quick 9 in yesterday. Shot +2, both bogeys coming on missed greens.  Gotta love the weather, 19c and sun yesterday, 3c and rain today! Cry tickedoff tickedoff tickedoff

Had the Wishon 919 Thi White in the bag again yesterday.  This driver is really impressing me. Kinda weird hitting approach shots from the fw.  Starting to get used to that feeling... yahoo

Man, maybe I shouldn't have gotten this set of Ping i20's. Even shot an under par 1st round with them. 3 rounds so far with them, shot 71, 71 from back tees (73.1/131) then today in very wet conditions, shot a 68 from whites, (70.0/124) with 3 bogeys, still shot that 68 despite going 1 over on par 5's with no birdies. Par is 72. Had 4 birdies in row before making a bogey on 485 yards par 5 from left greenside rough in 2. That really pissed me off. If you go right of this green, splasho.

Everything has returned back to normalcy for me after my round today. laugh

Today was my 5th round with this new Ping i20 irons, I finally shot a round over par. But I actually felt that it was one of my average rounds, nothing good nor bad. Just one of those days where I didn't score as well as I'd like but I did hit the ball nicely though. A 75 from back tees.

Played the back nine at my muni. Shot a 40 (par 35). Left a bunch of putts out there due to the plugged greens. (yeah, right!) putts rolled in unpredictable directions. Temp 82 with a cool onshore breeze.

Thought I was going to shoot in the 60's for the first time this year but 3 putted the last hole for a 70. I have been really struggling with the irons which is very unusual for me. The ground is unbelieveably firm for April in Indiana and the ball is really rolling out, but I haven't been able to take advantage of it yet. I have tried about everything except buying new irons, so that's next, I guess.

I can't even stretch it out to 330 in forum dreamland. I did reach a 525 par 5 in two yesterday which made me feel pretty darn good. It was downwind and the ground is very firm, but it still felt good. It's always the indian, but sometimes different arrows can cause changes in the indian, if that makes any sense.

Feel like it's been forever since I got to post in here last. Played ye 'ol home course today. It was raining yesterday and this morning, so all of MN was playing their golf between 9AM and 3PM today. Just over 4.5 hours. Talked with the ranger before I teed off and learned there is a new superintendent this year. I could tell: first time I've ever seen the greens punched in April. Surprise!!!  Roll Eyes tickedoff Rolled like sheet, chipped like sheet. Oh well, the previous guy needed to go. Interested to see what the new guy can do. Managed 41-37-78. Almost eagled 18 for my second round in a row here. Darn cold. My car said 49 degrees when I got done and there was a breeze out of the north. Ball was going NO WHERE today. Oh well, good afternoon and got paired with some good people. Playing hooky tomorrow.  yahoo

Hooky was played, as was golf. Fast golf. No one else on the course golf on one of the best weather days in a while golf.  yahoo
Tried to sneak up to 60 degrees, but it got cool when the sun went behind the clouds. Variable winds. Links at Northfork was the venue. Played super solid golf on the front side with an offsetting birdie and bogey. If I could putt... Roll Eyes #1 and #2 presented opportunities from 8 feet. Finally got the next one from 8 feet on #3.  Favorite shot of the front side was #9, par 5 500 yard risk/reward with water in front. Had 206 to clear the water and 236 to the pin into a pretty good breeze right into my face. What the hell...RBZ Tour got me to the back edge of the green up on a mound at 240 yards. Not a bad chip, but left a downhill left to righter from 8 feet that missed. (8 feet. What was with 8 feet today?) Was very happy with being even on the front.
Back side I hit it well, but didn't have as good of luck. #15 my nemesis hole got me again, but escaped with bogey anyway. Birdied 16 and was at even par and knew it (unfortunately) standing on 17 tee. Par 3, 177 yards to a dangerous back pin. I thought I needed 6 iron to get it back there with the wind as it was, and took 7 for safety which was dumb as it splatted in a deep greenside bunker thanks to a non-committed swing in between clubs. Made a nice out to clear the high lip and hill in front and got it just on the back fringe from, you guessed it, about 8 feet. Nope.
Ripped my drive on 18, 419 yard par 4, leaving 117 to another dangerous back right pin. I wanted birdie to try to get in at even after the bogey on 17. Hit just too nice of a 50 degree, my 120 club, and hit it 120 and left a devilish chip out of rough downhill. The greens were firm and crusty today. Hit it almost too good and it stopped somehow leaving a nasty downhill 6 footer. Doah. +2 74. No work. Course to self. It was a good day.  prop

I got to play for 1st time since last week. My home course's green was aerated on Monday but it wasn't too bad in it's early stages before sand starts to settle down in the tine holes. I played with 3 buddies including a club pro, I just did something for just 2nd or 3rd time in my life. I didn't have any birdies or bogies. Made 18 very easy pars in my round for a even par 72, 6850 yards long, rating 73.1/131. I usually have 1-2 birdies each round at the worst but nada today. Oh well. My friends was razzing me for not making anything. Screw them!! LOL

15 greens in regulation, 33 putts but nothing long nor short though. Just a boring round, I guess.

I get to the course yesterday afternoon and not a single person is playing. It is drizzling a little and I hear low rumblings of thunder in the distance but I decide to play anyway. I hole a sand wedge from 82 yrds on the 1st hole for an eagle and then chip in for eagle on the 2nd hole. I birdie a tough par 3 third hole and also birdie the 4th. I'm on the green putting to go 7 under after 5 when the skies open up and lightning is everywhere. I definitely had a vision of the priest in caddyshack. Fortunately there is a shelter house close to the 5th so I take refuge and wait it out unscathed. It didn't last long and I actually made that putt, but then pissed out for the rest of the round and finished with a 67.
