My first real set of clubs was a half set of 1958 Wilson Staffs. They used to belong to a 6'3 man, so they were far too upright for my 5'9 frame and I developed a really steep swing to hit them. Regardless of that, I thought that they were absolutely gorgeous and I developed a real liking for all the Wilson Staff designs with the exception of the 73-75 designs with the weight port. Of all the Staffs the ones I coveted the most were the Bulletback and Buttonbacks from the late 60's early 70's. So, last week I answered an ad with no expectations as it read good shape - only needs new grips, and I expected to see a collection of clubs ready to be used as garden utensils. At the end of the day I am the new proud owner of a complete set of 69 or 70 Bulletbacks in absolutely wonderful shape. No rust, no discoloration of the chrome. I regripped with some Golf Pride Cushion grips that I had hanging around and took them to the range. Very sweet, and as easy to hit as my Lynx Parallax. The amazing thing is that the shafts are the same length and the lofts appear to be identical. I was getting the same yardages and trajectories as the Lynx. Can't wait to play with these. They look absolutely amazing in my bag.

The '69 model is probably the best designed blade of the "golden era". The only one that rivals it in my mind was much later in the 80's.....the FG-17 by Wilson

Those are really sweet. I wish I had an extra $250 laying around. I would buy them up in a minute.
