Possibly Diablo Grande on Sunday the 30th?

Play both courses for $99 including carts and range balls....  Get an early start and go for it?

Ben & I (or me???  zchange) are playing Stevinson on 08/30. Looking at a 1pmish time. No luck getting anyone else together at fgi.

I don't think it would be a problem for you two to join.

I already have at least one that wants to play Diablo Grande that day. Dave and I were on a motorcycle trip with him this past weekend. You guys want to switch and play two courses at Diablo on that day instead of Stevinson?

Or if things fall through with Diablo Grande, I may join you at Stevinson. I have played there 3 times and the first two was bad timing and the greens had been punched and sanded and the third time, with Dave and Tad (on this and other forums) was SUPER windy, insane winds.

Diablo seems like a hell of a good deal. I'm up for either.

I think ben & i are going to stick with stevinson. I'll just make it for 4 and adjust it 24 or 48 hours or whatever before. At some point Scott we should take a ride to play old greenwood or coyote moon in truckee. Enjoy Diablo Grande, always a nice place to play!

I have heard Coyote Moon is a great course, but the only time I have played anywhere up there was Lake Tahoe Golf Course, in Meyers area in South Shore.

I'm available on the 30th, is there a Stevenson and a Diablo outing?

Take your pick Turkey!  18 holes at a 4 1/2 star (Golf Digest Rating) course or 36 holes on two great courses that don't quite have the prestige of the 4 1/2 stars but are still fun and a definite challenge.

I have two tee times for Diablo Grande and so far, only 3 players. So, if anyone wants to join, we have room. We will tee off on the Legends course first, at 8:40am.

Ok, I double checked the maps on those two courses.  I don't have quite that much free time for that far of a drive.    prop

Going out of town to see family that weekend so I can't make it, but have a great time guys.  Both DG courses for $99 on a weekend is a great deal.  Stevinson is a great course and always worth playing.

Dave and I played both courses at Diablo Grande and had a blast yesterday! It was a hot one, but for me, it wasn't unbearable because there was a slight breeze all day long. Amazing how windy it was when I got home though, nothing like at the course.

Played one of the four 9's really well and did just o.k. on the others. Dave played solid all day until two consecutive bad shots on hole #30 for the day (#12 on the Ranch course).

It took longer than I thought it would to play both courses, but we also took a long lunch break to cool-down. Started at 8:40am and finished around 7:20pm. When we were on the Ranch course, we saw a foursome finishing 18 when we were on 1, and then not a single other golfer after that. Crazy.

Ben/Brian, how was Stevinson?

Diablo Grande was in great condition. The greens were nice and smooth and true (although I took 38 putts on the Legends and only 29 on the Ranch).

We were playing the whites, so I went 4-iron (a perfect one, I might add), and was looking to do another 4-iron when it all went wrong: thinned into the ravine, then dropped, then big draw over the ravine but into the left ravine. Dropped up there, hit a BEAUTIFUL high 4-iron toward the pin, but came up 15 yards short. Poor bunker shot, and 2 putts. A nice little 9. Yuck...

Anyone interested in maybe playing Stevinson Ranch on the 25th?  I know Ben and Brian played there in late August, but Dave brought it up that they are now #5 in the Golf World rankings now and I have yet to play the course in good conditions, so it's time for me to try it again!

if we can make this a mid-week date (Wed/Thur), I'm in. Sadly, weekends are out as I must tend to the winery. LMK

Alas, I have a "normal" job, where they want me to be at work during the "normal" weekdays and so the only way to do a weekday for me is to take one off. At this point, I have no vacation time to take and have two days scheduled off next month....

So, I won't be planning anything for during the week, but others on here may.

Wow, i found that article http://www.worldgolf.com/newswire/browse/60566-Stevinson-Ranch-Named-Top-Public-Course-California

With all due respect I don't agree that it was #5. It was a great place and for $35 an even better price. I'd rank either course at Diablo Grande or Monarch above Stevinson - but comparing courses is something that everyone can debate on  laugh

Oh and I'm done playing until next year. I've pissed away too much money this year and golf just isn't much fun not knowing where it is going and I don't have the motivation to practice in the cold

Have fun and let us know how it goes!
