I just want to play golf

« on: January 28, 2006, 07:11:06 PM »

Well... here goes.. without further ado...

Thanks to XC!!  I was able to hit a 10.5* 580XD TP with the Graman Ultimate G (LIMEY) shaft, stiff flex.

Whoa NELLY!

This has got to be the smoothest 60 gram shaft I have tried..  plays as smooth as my Diamana 83 stiff and has TONS of kick.

I was very impressed with this shaft.  Nice tight dispersion as well.  I was hitting the R5 TP & the 580XD TP side by side on a few holes.. and the LIMEY easily kept pace with the Diamana.  In fact, this driver actually helped me hit more fairways than my beloved R5 TP.  What's up with that??

Fellas.. if you haven't tried it, TRY it.  It's worth it.  It is easily the best bang for the back.. on par with Fuji Speeders and Diamanas, for a fraction of the price.

Heck, I'm going to get ahold of the folks at Graman to see about putting a Limey in my R5 TP.. that shaft is that good.

I'll be updating my review this week as I go to the range!

Later!!

The game of golf is played pin high!!  If anything, take one more club.  Far too many golfers never hit their approach shots even remote close to the green.

You should just sell the R5 TP while you can get your money out of it whist since I imagine I will have to go to CA to get the XD back from ya

No one believes me about the Limey but if you look in all the reviews from it ::My Limey Review Thread all have been good, not a bad comment about it.

It is a incredible shaft, esp since its under $100 shocking

Glad you liked it buddy, kick some butt in next weekends event with it bbad

Better bring your checkbook, I don't think Ramon will let you hit it without writing a check first zchange
It is a Great combo, the 580XD TP is a rare / special driver and the Limey makes it even better.

Nice review.   That must be a good match for you to want to drop a $299 shaft.

It's an outstanding shaft, regardless of the price.

It's one of those shafts that I wouldn't categorize because of it's price... I'd categorize it by it's peformance.  You would literally give up nothing by choosing this shaft over a Fuji, except maybe more money in your wallet.

It's really that good... and I didn't think I would say that at all...

golfware, I'm glad you found the Limey to your liking! Keep us posted with your results at the range and course.

XC made a believer out of me. I bought one from Lowpro Golf and put it in a J33R 420 and have found it to be well worth the money. I have found it to be very smooth, but the thing that really impresses me is it's ability to load up the entire length of the shaft and still release consistently with pretty tight dispersion. It's not quite as good as my 757 in this respect, but I don't have to work as hard to get it to perform either. I found that the launch was mid and not too high as some have found, but I also tipped mine 1". Overall, I think it's definitely a keeper.

Okay, I need some education here....

I've tried most all shafts out in the marketplace that I can think of...most for me...some for customers...some I've tried that belonged to others.

But I've yet to try these...and at the price, they could be good sellers for me, if they work as good as y'all say.

So what's the differences between the 440, 540,640?

I see weight and torque differences...but same bend point across the board.

Has anyone done shaft profiling on any of these shafts before I decide which one to try first?

Tell me how that works out because I have an Aggressive Frenzy 80 in X flex that I was thinkin about putting in my 3 woods, but I really love steel.

I'm no expert by any stretch, but I have hit the 540 and 440 in my r7... I initially had the 540 installed untipped at 45"... I was fighting a little bit more fade than I wanted, so I tried the higher torque 440... I could hit it pretty well but it was a little whippy for me, leading to some inconsistent results... I went back to the 540, but this time tipped 1/2" finished at 44.5"... I just got back from the range with it, and while I could not gauge my distances very well (it was dark and I could not see the ball land), it was going significantly straighter, and felt great (as it did before)... I'll be hitting the course with it later this week (maybe tomorrow, if the planets align)... we'll see how it works out on the course then...
