Well, I've got about 6 rounds under my belt with the Limey, so here are some impressions...

The long and short of it, I am longer and in the short grass more often... my driving distance average is up by 9 yards, and my fairways hit is up by 10%... I was surprised by the fairways number as I felt the troque was kicking my butt every now and again, but I guess there is something to be said for concentrating on closing the club face...

It feels great, nice and smooth... the lunch angle is about the same as the shaft it replaced (stock r7HT shaft), but it does not balloon like the old one, just a nice ballistic ball flight, giving some extra roll that I was not getting with the old...

I get a lot of looks on the tee box, as it is quite the eye catcher... yesterday, on the first tee, I was the last to tee off (after eveyone else had put theirs into the woods)... so up I walk with the light saber and rip one about 290 right down the middle... the starter, who hung around to watch the festivities, could only gawk, then finally asked what the shaft was, and where to find one (plug for LowPro given)...

All in all, very happy with the shaft, and considering one for the 3-wood too.

J

That's an awesome story about the Limey.  It's nice that it's working well for you.  Maybe you'll get lucky and win another one in the contest this month.

Works great in a Ping G2, Nike Ignite 460
I am putting one in a 580XD TP later this week Dirty Sanchez

It's all about matching a shaft and the head for your swing

I'm having a 540 put in my 3 wood, and maybe will be pulling the 540 from my driver and installing the 640, then putting the 540 in a 5 wood.

Well that goes 180 off from the conventional wisdom of heavier shafts in fw woods.

55 grams in a 3 wood? You trying out for long drive 3 wood style? Make your 3 wood 45 inches while ur at it XC Tongue

I like the 3 wood shaft being light.  It just feels better to me.

Just a few grams lighter than my normal 65 gram ones, I have always used lighter ones. The UL440 will launch the ball higher which is what I want in a 3 wood.

I picked up a 540 Regular flex  from Ken at Lowprogolf ...very nice people to deal with I might add. I tipped it 1" and installed it at 45" in a Bridgestone J33R 420 9.5*. I have had a couple range sessions only, but this combination  surpasses my expectations by a bunch! The head was an impulse buy and the shaft came highly recommended from this board, but I will take a lucky shot in the dark anytime. yahoo

How does that Bridgestone head feel? I've honestly never hit one before but if Scott Hend and Stuart Appleby use them they must be worth it. The Bridgestone ball isn't bad either.

Yeah, I'm also interested in your ideas on the Bridgestone head.  I really like their ball.

The J33R 420 is the hottest face that I have hit to this point. The feel is mellow, but crisp with no tinny sound. Teamed with the Limey, I have found it to be the best find I've had for along time. I thought so much of it that I just picked another one up in a 10.5* to see if I might get a little more carry without hurting the unbelievable release and roll that I'm getting with the 9.5*. I also feel that the slightly smaller head is a little easier to square up than the 460 cc heads that I have been hitting.
