How about some mid-70's Sam Sneed Blue Ridge (Wilson)  I have the woods and 3-pw.  I used to love those things.  First set of clubs I bought with my own money.

I think that most products on the market still say "patent pending".

I have a set of the mid 80's Ping Eye 2 Berillium Copper square groove irons. These clubs are still great! They do appear slightly undersized in comparison to today's oversized irons. But they functioned well in the mid 80's and do the same today. Although I don't play with them often, I still love the sweetness of these irons. I will have them forever!!

Regarding the Sam Snead Blue Ridge clubs, this was also the first set of golf clubs which I purchased. My starter set was Hillerich and Bradsby irons which had wood veneer on the shafts. The heads seems to have lots of loft. My woods were a mixture of used clubs.

But the Sam Snead's will always be a pleasant memory. I was so proud of them and polished them daily. They had a good feel but I later purchased some Wilson Staff Bullet Back irons in 1970 and still have these.

Great memories of the clubs which started my lifelong love of golf.

The Wilsons were pretty mass market, so there have to be lots of them out there.  Nice to hear from another person with pleasant memories of them.

My first brand new set of clubs as a junior were Ping Eye 2's in the late 80's. My uncle
brought them over to the UK from Canada. There was a sticker on the 9 iron shaft that
said 'Canadian Model' with some number.

I compared them to the Club champions Eye2 purchased in Europe and they were certainly
a different shape, more rounded at the top of the toe.

They were the flat soled eye twos, illegal grooved types.

I just picked up a set of the Eye 2 + and love them. A guy brought them into the shop on consignment and they are like brand new. I am thinking about trying them out over the weekend to see about playing something more forgiving.
