T-minus less than 2 days.  Remember folks, THE Open goes off about 1 am EST in the United States.  So probably better not wait until Thursday morning to get one's picks in....because they won't count!

Is Elin playing this year? I thought Tiger was off limits for the contest... winkey

Just like our typical contest for majors, pick 4 players (I'd recommend players actually in THE Open) NOT named Tiger,

That damn Evelyn Wood speed reading course that I took... laugh

Thanks Rock -  winkey

Lets try this again

Woods
 Goosen
 Els
 Westwood

Ernie Els
Ian Poulter
Lee Westwood

Those are 3 of my 4 planned picks.   tickedoff

BTW, Westwood has a slight tear in his calf muscle.  Don't know if you know but many seem not to.

On another note, Jeff Overton has been playing the best golf this side of Graeme McDowell and Justin Rose.  I hate him though.  Slow, slow golfer and seems to have anxiety issues.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him leading at some point, only to puke horribly all over himself, a la Dustin Johnson.

I saw an interview with him at lunch. Apparently he's fine and the pain only happens after the ball is away from his swing. Drugs and determination should be good enough for him to make the top 10.

Well, I'm hoping anyways.

I didn't see the interview, but heard about it and figured it was a non-issue. We will see if I (and everyone else that picked him) are right.

Is he really that slow? I played with him a couple of times when he was at IU and he was pretty fast then. The main reason I'm picking him is I think he can handle slow bumpy greens pretty well and he is long and wild left which suits the old course pretty well.

That's the impression I have of seeing him on TV.  He's been on a lot recently since he has like 4 top 5s in the six tourneys or whatever.

Mirroring the brilliant Taps Browning picks:

Els
Poulter...switching to ze German, Martin Kaymer
Jeff Overton
Padraig Harrington - The modern day Tom Watson -

Besides the fact that Paddy has won two of these, I'm surprised that he is picked that much. He has showed absolutely nothing this season. I guess we'll see.

He has 5 top tens!?!  This side of Westwood and Els and a couple straglers (like Ricky Barnes or Matt Kuchar), few have more top tens than the Irish Chipmunk!!

Some just have to learn the hard way.  When the Irish chipmunk has that retard stare going on Sunday, you'll realize your mistake.
