Nice looking stick.

I'm pretty sure Ryo has been using an Odyssey #9 lately.   ( I'm not sure which model...  maybe the Black Series i? )

At Pebble Beach he was using a center shafted mallet.  I didn't get the best look at it, however, I could see it had an insert & it appeared to have the Odyssey emblem on the heal side of the insert.

Can we assume this was a custom-shop putter?  I can't find anything on the Odyssey site showing a model like this.  Did anyone else notice, or have any info on this putter?

I know he is on staff with Yonex, but I don't believe Yonex has a putter line right now?

Looked like a Japan release Odyssey with the black finish and insert.

It looked like a center shafted (or close too center) Odyssey mallet.

??

I said he had been using the #9 Odyssey...   it was definitely a center shafted putter at Pebble Beach.

No SW in the bag?

How do you play out of greenside rough in the US Open with no SW?  Bunkers?

Looks like he could have dropped the 2 iron..... essentially the same yardage as the 5W.

Open up the 52? And presumably the 2 iron would be used for a different shot (low liner) than a 5w might have been, right?

By SW, I assume he means 56*. Lob wedge would be the 60* option. Big gap there from 52 to 60.

On the RIGHT hand side of the picture, there are 13 clubs listed.  No SW or LW in the listing.   Add in the putter, and he's done.

Just to add fuel to the fire. The 2i is not in the picture.

From the Japanese magazines I have read Ryo does indeed play a 52-60 (sometimes 58) combo.

I carry a 53-60 myself if I'm playing from the tips to add that extra hybrid. Other times I go 51/55/60.

Phil often plays a similar gap: 48-52-60-64.  I guess 52 is the highest lofted club they want to take a full swing with, the 60 is for all the intermediate and bunker work, and the 64 is for bailout shots all around the green.

52* 60* is still a fairly large gap distance wise. Says he hits the 52* 115, does he just hit knock downs with the 52 from inside 100, or use the 60 with almost a full swing?
