things change...

« on: May 26, 2010, 11:53:13 AM »

I'm a scrounger and on my latest foray I picked up a set of woods 1,3,5, in great condition for $10
They are the Taylormade Ti Bubble 2 with the s-90 shaft and the amazing thing about them is they FLO almost perfectly.
I took them out without any prior testing and my first drive was dead solid down the middle with same length as my favourite J33p driver. The 5 wood which has a raylor sole is a peach, as good as anything I've tried off the fairway. The 3 wood is a keeper as well. I'm stunned, a little flummoxed because this stuff is 10 years old.  I just might hang on to them and team them with my Muirfield irons. The joke is I scrounged a mint Taylormade r7 stand bag only a few weeks ago for the same price.

Ah yes, the old school, sub-300cc drivers.

In addition to playing the old stuff from time to time, I think about taking out the old 250-260ish drivers.  Not quite as retro as playing persimmons, but it's still kind of retro.

Remember the old Dynacraft Grand Limited?  Grin
