Interesting story: the Transitions tournament director was understandably upset about Tiger's interview going live right when Furyk was winning the tournament. More at http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/news/story?id=5017142

Good strategy there fellas.

Two public speaking moments that happened at extremely inconvenient times in a row to disrupt a golf tournament? How existential...  zchange

I am no Tiger supporter, but the tournament was delayed several hours by rain Sunday morning pushing its finish into Tiger's chosen time.

Ari Fleisher got George Bush to use his weather machine (the one that caused Katrina) to cause the rain delay so that coverage would run head to head with Tiger's interview. Tiger's always thinking people.

It seems everyone screwed the pooch on this one. I assume one of the conditions of the interviews was that they couldn't air them before 7:30 which presumably would allow enough time for any tournament delays. They probably should have added "or not sooner than 5 minutes after NBC's coverage ended". You know that neither network was going to delay their interview broadcasts in deference to the tournament unless required to do so.

I seriously doubt many people watching the tournament switched over to the interviews.

The Director should be pissed at the NCAA and CBS for playing and televising the college basketball tournament as well.

Director: "How dare they schedule March Madness in March!"
