I finally broken down and got Phil's DVD and have had a chance to play 3 rounds now using the techniques. I must say, this is as good of a short game as I've ever had this early in the season. I can routinely get it to 4 or 5 feet from just within 30 yards of the green now...something most of you probably don't struggle with, but has been difficult for me. I've always been confused when to chip, what to chip with and when to pitch, how far to take it back, when to break the wrists, when not to. Phil's system helps me make everything the same, a pitch is just a longer chip.

My next step is trying to tighten the circle a little more so I've got 3 feet or less.

If you haven't seen this and are struggling with short game, I say check it out.

It's the most concise, easy to watch, and understandable golf instructional ever made.  Best of all, it's on Netflix.

4 to 5 feet would be terrific for me!

I'll have to rewatch that DVD!

It's terrific - bought it when it came out and for the few rounds I played in the summer, it saved par so many times -- incredible at getting one within a confident one putt distance -- 3-4 feet.

Definitely -- this is a valuable DVD and it's fun to work on opening the club from off the green and getting it to within 3 ft. I must admit, though, that most of my par saves came from 30-40 yards and stopped within 3-4 feet of the cup. I attribute that to Phil's teachings and a high spin ball (in my case, the 330-RX).

I watched it a few days ago and put it to practise today with great results. From 50 yards in I was infinitely better than Ive ever been. Made all the better watching my mates hit wooden chip shots with no hinge or hold whatsoever Tongue

The hinge and hold is a softer stroke with less tension once you trust it. It took me a while because I like playing bump and runs from off the green and the HAH has a little more club action. The loft on the shorter stuff is excellent, Phil explains it well and it's easy to follow along without getting lost in too much geometry........
