hmmm what to get next?

« on: February 25, 2010, 01:20:20 PM »

Thought I would share my Lajosi putter experience here, the project is just getting started but has been a pleasure for sure. I contacted Kari Lajosi a little over a week ago and asked if he would be willing to CNC one of my designs and he agreed and at a pleasantly surprising price, so I quickly jumped at the opportunity. I first sent him my CAD's with a request to change a few things. After a week of tweaking the design this is where we are in the process. I'm told he has finished the milling programs and the actual milling should start today. clapping

Should feel pretty soft, the putter is going to be milled from 1020 carbon and the copper plated.

Not sure what Kari calls it but it kind of looks like a ripple in water. Here are the updated pics. She still needs her sightline and a bit of a polish before she heads to the plater.

WOW! That is one awesome looking putter. If you don't mind me asking, what is the charge for that? You can PM me if you don't want the world to know.

I've settled on a shaft choice, this particular shaft has been electroplated with black chrome. I think it should go well with the copper plated head. Pics make the finish look uneaven but it's not, what your seeing is fingerprints.

I like the design, in particular the cavity off-set with the weighted toe bias. Not crazy about the copper plating.

Lajosi makes some amazing putters. i just LOVE all the different milling options. so unique...takes putter making into a whole new realm of art in my opinion. Very nice lookin stick you got there. hope it rolls half as good as it looks!

Great looking putter -
The one detail in the design/milling that caught my eye was in your third set of pic's - the 2nd down.
There is a step on the right side that looks identical to a piece of shoe mold,
If I didn't know better I would think a finish carpenter/cabinet maker designed it.

As David noted - That patina effect effin' ROCKS!!!

Nice choice on the black shaft as well -

I'll bet you have the best looking tomatoe / lettuce displays in the store.  winkey

Seriously though, you have a very good design eye, nice CAD skills as well.
