 whist
So, I'm reshafting my dad's 2009 Burner TP (the one in the pic) and there is a collar around the rim of the hosel about an 1/8 of an inch in depth...anybody know if I need an adapter or special bushing or fluted ferrule for that?  If so, can you tell me which one???

Thanks for any help

I used just a regular plain .335 ferrule when I reshafted mine with out a problem.

if there a recess in the hosel, like the one you mention, it means that a collared ferrule is the preferred type .
The collar's intent is to act as a soft shoulder in an area that's been a source of shaft fracture in some assemblies.
If you don't have a collared ferrule,  a ferrule with an large enough internal chamfer will retain the bead of epoxy that wells up around the shaft and thus in conjunction with the recess fills up to form a supporting collar of epoxy extending up inside the ferrule.

thanks bl8d...i'll check the .335 ferrules i have and see about that internal chamfer...those collared ferrules are a pain any way as they often are hard to seat all the way in without rising.
