OK I could not wait and during a quick break in the rain I went to the range. First WOW! Hit it straight against 4 other drivers. The Cally FT-9 TA (9* 1 degree open, Project X 7-A3 x-flex) , Diablo Edge Tour (8.5 degree's 1 degree open, Matrix Altus LT x-flex), Nike Sumo Tour (9.5 degree's square, 73g WB -x flex) and 08 Tour Issued TM Burner (9 degree's, 1 degree open with a Matrix F6M2 x-flex). The weather is 50 degree's with no sun and about 5-10 mph winds. The Range was hitting down wind. Also had to hit off matts with the rubber tee's.
I was hitting the Sumo Tour really good during this past summer before my 3rd surgery of the year (had 2 surgeries in Jan within 2 weeks, 150 staples) and 4 months of chemo. June was my strongest month and I was hitting it about 275-285 carry and with roll 300, sometimes 310. Dead straight always. Now I say all that for reference as today around 250. Again this is my weakest after 3rd major surgery of the year and now 1 year of chemo and radiation. I was hitting the 08 Burner around 285 carry and 300-310 during the 08 season. Today maybe 250-255 carry.
Diablo Edge Tour just got and I was hitting it around 255-260 with no roll. I have hit that a bit farther earlier in the month when it was not raining so much 275 and a couple 285 or so.
The FT-9 TA is my buddies and just starting hitting that around Dec 09 and Jan 2010. Hitting it around 260-265 carry (sometimes 275-285 carry) but with wet FW's not roll yet so I don't know how far it goes. Today wth the wind behind 275 carry but no roll.
The Supertri was superb. Kai'li shaft stiff but tipped to make is between a stiff and x-flex. I might have to tip it again to make it play X-flex. Just as long or longer than the FT-9 TA. Cannot quite tell as the flags are on mounds and hills and so once you get out that far it's hard to see the true landing except when you hit it right on the flag which I did on a number of occasions. Now for the real difference- waaaaaay more forgiving and a much higher ball flight. When I miss hit the FT-9 TA, way off line and much shorter. The Supertri even on miss hits went longer than the Nike or TM good shots. Holy crap

The launch was so much different as the ball was coming out of the clouds but not ballooning but just going long and up. I flew the mound a few times and this is with crapy range balls

Image in sunny warmer conditions when the ball flies farther and with premium balls and not range balls that are beat up.
I have to say this is the longest driver (I say tied with the FT-9 TA for right now as again both were near the same landing spots) I have ever hit and one of the most forgiving. I have a ton of drivers as well. 07 Burner (Tour issued hot melt , etc), 08 Burner (same), Nike Tour, TEE XCG, XCG-V, Glued Tour Issued FT-9 with a WB, Diablo Edge Tour Issued, Diablo 09 version with F6M2, R9 with Fubuki, Geek, Honma (Japan club), Nike 5900, Cobra Speed, L4V (2 one with F7M2 and 8M2), L5V, TM 09 Burner (Tour issued), Adams 9015d, Adams 9032LS, Titleist D3 (Tour Issued) and a few others and this is longer than them all!
Thank you Frank for the best Driver I have ever hit and it is the best looking Driver I have ever hit as well. I also know the distances as I have scoped them out before with the laser a few years ago to work on yardage gaps for my irons. While I was doing that I went ahead and did it for the hybrids and woods as well. So the distances are legit. Anyway Supertri MaDneSs is on
