I'm Going Off The Rails On A Crazy Train...

« on: February 06, 2010, 12:28:10 PM »

As I stated in an earlier post, that had putter pic's in progress, I was the lucky beneficiary of being awarded a Wishon putter in the recent giveaway.
Matt let me pick my choice and a couple days later my S2R, model 3 showed up at the door complete with headcover and shaft sticker.

Morgan Mann read my thank you post and sent me a pm saying that he and LaMont (MannKrafted Putters) would like to further extend my Christmas present from Wishon / Golf Discussions and give it a one of a kind custom treatment, gratis.

I really wanted this putter to reflect the spirit and generosity of the season - the Christmas Trees, the bright, colored lights that are strung, etc. In addition I wanted to have a black finish on it as its a pretty elegant finish as far as I'm concerned.

I left it up to Morgan to choose the black finish and LaMont took the whole concept, colors, stampings and yielded his magic.
How the hell LaMont was able to get the paint in the stampings is amazing.
I think that there is a final bit more to be done (shaft and grip, completed putter pic's later)).

In closing, I anbet.gif to Kenny & Co., Tom and Matt, Morgan and LaMont Mann. Thank You's all around are not words enough for the happiness you've bestowed upon me.

Almost forgot - Patrick from SandSaveGolf provided a Sea Ray exotics grip for it - His site is worth checking out - his grips are outstanding.

I seem to recall this question asked once before...

I do have a Pine Meadow putter with test stampings though that you might want. laugh

I was really concerned about the type of finish- powdercoat, polymer and how it might affect the face milling.

Obvious from the results but LaMont did a great job in applying the coating.
Hopefully later he or Morgan will stop in and explain the treatment.
