WTF? If this wasnt the weirdest movie I have ever seen then I dont know what was. It was terrible, yet I couldnt shut it off because I had to see where the hell it was going and bizarre way they were going to get there. Now if you simply want a Webster dictionary of good old fashioned racist slang then this puppy is your ticket.

I have not seen it yet, but it's on the way to my house (Columbia House). I heard from a lot of people that it was a good movie, but does have a LOT of racial stuff.

It's a weak kiss and makeup. Americans find out about the customs of the good "gooks" who are displaced friendlies from Vietnam who they left stranded in the pullout. One day Clint will do another movie like this about the Kurds.

Frankly I loved it, but then again, I'm a bit older. Vietnam era is pretty real to me. Tells a good story - in fact I wouldn't have minded if it were longer and Clint took more time showing more backstory.

As I watched it I couldn't help but wonder how in blazes they managed to make a movie like this in this day and age.   shocking  Then as the story goes along it all gets made to fit, except for Clint's singing shutup.

Reminded me a bit of Unforgiven....

Cheers,
Erik

I agree with collector and I am a Viet Nam era guy too.  Maybe you had to grow up during those times to "get it"

No me and my buddies are in our mid twenties and we all LOVED it! I thought the movie was awesome even though there were some real cheesy parts to it.

I was going to rent it last night and I was told the story line sucked.  It should have been a 'in the hood' type movie and it would have been better?

I dont care what era you were born in, the movie sucked. It was so corny, and utterly stupid that I at times thought i had rented the "spoof" version. I only sat through it because I just had to see how they were going to finish this debacle. Clint singing at the end was the capper. He's an old man who's clearly on the wrong side of the senility tracks.

I rented it on BluRay last night and loved it. Such a great movie and enjoyed the story long, but wished it was longer for the side of him interacting with the family.
