I never keep anything except 3-piece urethane balls. The Pinnacles, Top-Flites, NXTs and the like get donated to a couple of local junior golf programs. The urethanes go into my bag and when the ball pocket gets full the contents get transferred into a duffel bag in my trunk. Today the duffel bag filled up and I was forced to clean it out too. About 275 urethane cover balls in there, maybe 175 ProV1/ProV1x and another 100 assorted Callaway, Nike, Srixon and other. WTH do I do with them all? Not worth selling and too good to give to the juniors.

Float them in a barrel of epsom salt. Throw a beerparty for your buddies and bob for ProV's.

How many are in good enough shape to play?  I find a ton of golf balls too, I routinely sort them as: playable, practice, and donate to the range.
If all 275 are playable you need to swing a lot harder and lose more golf balls!   laugh

nothing witty or perverse here...BUT...keep 20 or so to practice chipping and putting...i play my pro v1's until they get lost or scuffed too badly...the ones that get unplayable i keep to practice chipping and putting...i like to chip and putt with the actual balls i play to keep that same feel going...as for the rest...i dunno...

instead of a pay it forward, we used to have people explain why they needed/wanted the items that were to be given away.

Keep some in the car for road rage situations. I have 3 or 4 golf balls that sit in my car's centre console. A couple of weeks ago I was driving home from work in the rain and this a hole came flying up in the left lane, gets next to me then wanted to merge in front of me when his lane joins mine but I ignore the fool and keep going as our road rules say give way to the right (me). Anyway he blows his horn at me for not letting him pass me. So I'm pissed and I reached for a golf ball - going to throw one back at him, but I look at it just before and I'd grabbed a new Titleist so I wasn't going to waste that - by the time I switched to a scuffed up Srixon I'd thought better of it but I did hold the ball out the window so he knows not to push the issue.

Use the rest for a Jan Stephenson type photo opportunity - 275 balls should cover up the necessary bits.
