cracked the face on my 9016D.  Sellingers claims they are out of stock on the 8.5 heads.  This presents a problem.  Waiting on them to get back to me.

Bring it down and we'll do the spine, FLO, hot melt the head and install.  THEN, talk about going to SC next year for the 4th. (I think) Annual "Robby Porter Picks Up The Dinner Tab" Tournament! laugh  We'll see if we can get Big Lefty in AZ. there as our secret weapon...  Kenny will never be the same!!! laugh

I just want to let you guys know....

I just played with my new 9016D on the course today (I put an Accuflex JLG Ultraboom stiff tipped 1/2inch in it).
One of the longest combos I've ever hit!
I'm happy with it.

I was disappointed with the 9015D but I am quite happy with the 9016D.

i got to hit my 9016d outside today to compare it to my beloved v5lx.  look out.  the apex was much lower.  which is what i was looking for.  spin was comparable, as i didnt hit any shots that ballooned with either driver.  distance was a wash as the range had snow on it.  but overall, i was quite impressed.  the axiv red 69 is very light.  the counter balance makes this shaft feel as though you are swinging air.  i may look to put a f7m2 in the adams as well for a true apples to apples test.

Played with my 9016D again today and its really looong!! and it limited my draw dispersion (which is I think a good thing) I was almost always in the middle or the right side of the fairways today.... I was always used to the left side where, in my course, its either, there is a tree or a hazard or a harder lie.

Today, I was in the middle and long! and I was seeing the course in an entirely different perspective! The greens were wide open today!! haha!!

Though I still have a slight (very, very slight) draw but the ball practically lands where I shoot it! where as before, it was 10-20 yards to the right....

this could be because of the 9016D's more open face and maybe the stiffer shaft.

My 9016D has been in the bag for 5 or 6 weeks now and I am still in awe of how long this thing is.  I went to a demo day today and hit some of the new "hot" drivers out there and nothing came close to giving me the warm fuzzies like the 9016D with the Axis 75x.  It IS the new madness.

just got back from the range hitting my new 9016d 7.5 w/ f7m2 X.  WOW!!!  yahoo  i was/still am in love with my v5lx, but the adams is my new sweetheart.

both clubs hit to the same apex, but the adams gets there later in flight.  which leads me to believe the lower spin lets this ball just keep going up and out.  i couldn't tell distance at the range, but the adams flight looks like it will lead to more roll!!!

i cant wait to play on some courses soon and see what this thing can do.

I'm not selling my 7.5* 9016d, just the 8.5*.  It will be the 7.5* and the ft9 for the gamer spot this year.

Oh yeah, I forgot you have 2 9016Ds!  whist

I heard good things about the FT9 but I hope the 9016D wins out because I don't want to change drivers this early!  Cry

Later apex would indicate lower launch and higher spin. Higher launch lower spin would climb quicker and decend at a shallower angle

mick, let me clarify that again.  it stayed at its apex longer down range.  and this combo definitely isnt higher spin than my old driver.

Actually you said "it gets there later in flight" (same apex overall). This means that the initial launch angle was lower assuming the same ballspeed. The only way to reach the same apex is to keep climbing via backspin. I am not knocking this club as it is fantastic. I am only going by your description. How do you know the difference in spin? What does the launch monitor say?

I love the excitement in these discussions but as a professional fitter/builder I have a hard time seeing posts which say things like 'I hit the ball to high" or "this combo is low spin" without any actual scientific data which validates these claims. I would like to see everyone fit properly and playing their best golf!! This is my only agenda. If you come to NYC I would be happy to let you know exactly what your clubs are doing for you.
