Let The Nothingness Into Yer Shots

I watched the Tiger Woods and Anthony Kim special on The Golf Channel last night, and was mightily entertained by Kim's totally lackadaisacal attitude, especially compared to Tiger's. Tiger was useful, of course, especially with his notion of controlling trajectory by stopping at the hip, the shoulder, or the head, but that is a mechanism beyond most players. Kim, meanwhile, suggested players figure out what's working for them and trust that, said he figured out his distances each morning on the practice tee, and basically had no idea what he was doing from day-to-day. That obviously isn't completely true, but Tiger kept staring at him as if to say, "Really?"
Also, both players ultimately advocated that there is no one right way to play the game; rather it is up to individual players to figure out how they can best get the ball closest to the hole on a given shot. If only more players recognized this.
However, if you're offended by infomercials dressed up to be something more substantive, maybe it isn't for you. Nike was on everything.

I have watched this a few times. AK is trying to tell people to follow the KISS method. Tiger is all about the process. AK's ideas would work for 99% of golfers. Whatever is working for you that day, play it.
And Sam is right, it was a Nike infomercial. Go figure.

It was a Nike contest that allowed those spectators to be there and play a hole with Tiger. Plus, they sponsor Tiger. Did not see it as an infomercial at all. It was Nike's deal, TGC was just televising it.

Haven't seen it since I don't subscribe to The Golf Channel. I don't know how I survive without it, but it seems to be working for me.
Kim is trying to sound like a "slacker" and Tiger is not buying it for a minute. Kim is trying out the ol' Snead act which is basically "Aw shucks,I just hit it ". Ol' Sam who liked to project the country bumpkinwas in fact a super athlete in several disciplines before he turned to golf. He practiced his buns off if you listen to his son Jack. Sam's wife and the two boys got to see him a couple a days out of a month because Dad was too busy either playing or practising. You hear about Hogan's ethic but Snead was no slacker. Kim may try and fool others but Tiger knows what you have to do to get to this level.

Anybody Watch The Woods/Kim Lesson on TGC?
No. I can only stand so much Tiger overkill and I didn't see any reason to start seeing him on TV until there was real golf being played. When I saw AK was going to be on it to, it just verified for me that it was a NIKE infomercial.

So what if it is a Nike infomercial? These days product placement happens all over, just sometimes it's more overt than other times, even in non-related shows. You just need to filter out what you don't want to see or what you don't want to absorb.

I didn't want to absorb any of it. Hence, I didn't watch the show at all.

That's certainly one way to do it. You could end up watching nothing, but then again that's not a bad thing either. This comment brought to you by Nike, the leader in stupid comments worldwide. Nay, galaxy wide, nay universe wide - just expanding stupid comments to infinity and beyond. Thank you.

It just gets a little annoying when every other word is Nike. tiger talks about his new irons and what they do , then ak starts blowing tiger about how great the new irons are and he plays them now on tour . Tiger does give great info on his trajectory control. I think tiger could be a great teacher and this shows how talented he is in that department

I got the impression Tiger was very impressed with AK's ball flight. Should be interesting this year.

It's nice to see Tiger off the course per se. He seems like a somewhat regular guy.
