What is truly stupid is not that she accidentally texted her pops that message, but that she let someone take a picture or a screen shot of that SMS.

That's precisely what's making me suspicious of the whole story...but as a dad, this story is a little cringe-worthy. I'd like to speak for all fathers of little girls---this is one SMS/MMS/email that I never want to receive.

Its funny the reaction from all the fathers...how quickly we forget what it was like to be a teenager...or perhaps we remember how we were as teenage boys? 18 is pretty late to lose it, the father did well to have her wait that long. I can only think of one girl I knew who made it to 18 and when she did she just did some random guy at her birthday party to get it over with because she had promised she would wait until her 18th birthday.

Eli, It's ALWAYS different when you are a male....If my son gets laid before his 15th birthday, high fives for everyone.....but if my daughter loses hers before she's 40, someone's gonna pay

99% likely fake.
And if not, at 18 years old for her first time her father would be doing cartwheels of joy.

Yeah, something does sound fishy about that....or does it smell fishy......must smell fishey after doing it on the beach....maybe she was trying to mask the smell .....What happened to the good ole days of losing virginities in the back seat of a car?

If it helps calm you down I have crushed a few father's hopes that their daughters were of pureness. Its not so bad guys, just wait until high school dances come around and your daughters want to pick out the most revealing dress possible for her assets?

Expected to hear that from me? Shame on me for that, but its not my fault. I guess one day I might understand. It reminds me of a recent story that ruined a marriage. Some call it home wrecking, but never mind. You can't protect your daughter to the point of sheltering her. Just educate her and trust that she will make the right decisions. Their is always thought of convincing her she wants to be a nun...

What is bad, is that I am 33 now, and when my father in law calls and interrupts me an my wife, I feel like answering the phone and when he asks why I am doing, I reply with "your daughter" and then hang up. Just because it would be a total shocker, and a bit funny.
Now when it comes to my daughter, who is 11 now, the boy is going to be told, "I have a .45 and a shovel and I am not afraid to go back to prison." That, along with the GPS enabled cell phone that she will be carrying should help me out a bit.
The problem with having having kids is that with boys, fathers only have to worry about one penis. Yet with girls, fathers have to worry about a million penis's. Kind of a tough task.
Dad's always want to think of their daughters and pure angels. No father wants to hear about some guy having his way with their daughter.

It is totally worth saying and hopefully your father in law can appreciate the humor. Timing is everything and I tried that line once, and timing wasn't there. I hope to god I don't have a daughter though, but the .45 and a shovel is a good line. Reminds me of the line from Bad Boys 2 where he asks the date if he has ever made love to man and refers to the fact if his neice is not back by 12 then he is going to.

That is awesome. It is all about getting their dates to believe you. Some kids nowadays don't have that fear of the father like I did 13 years ago. I told my daughter that if she ever has a date or a friend come to the house and honk the horn for her, rather than come to the door to ask for her, then I will be meeting them at the street and telling them to drive off. I had one guy that I work with tell his daughter to bring her date to the house so he could meet him and to make sure that she told him to wear appropriate clothing. The kid came to the house with his pants sagging off of his butt, and a shirt that went down to his mid thigh. My buddy told him, "I thought that I told you to dress appropriately? Get out of here, you aren't taking my daughter our looking like a goof." His daughter wasn't too happy.

I remember picking this girl up for a dance in highschool and the dad is on the porch with all his guns laid out. He is sitting their cleaning his 12 gauge with a pistol grip and a sidewinder drum as I pull up. As I got out of the car the first thing I heard was the infamous sound of a 12 guage pump and I about shat myself. I will never forget that sound and I was even more surprised when I met him standing 6' 4" 300+ pounds with absolutely no neck at all and just a generally big ol hick. I have been turned away at the door before from a date, because I did not dress well enough. Showed up in some timblands and baggy jeans with a shirt untucked in highschool. Once again I picked a girl with a bigger dad pushing 6'8" and I don't think he liked me at all. On second thought I know he didn't like me. That whole situation had a twisted ending to that relationship involving his other daughter and the dad pretty much wanting my head on the wall. If you scare the crap out of the date, he will remember that when he has the impulse to get freaky in the bag seat with your daughter. Just have to think like that and your date will be okay. Weapons seem add a nice touch to the whole dating experience for shock value. The best one I have seen to date was a father sharpening a machette on the front porch on a big grinding stone and then burying the blade in a chopping block as I walked up the steps on the way to shake his hand.
