For anyone to spend $12,500 for a putter for their collection because they love putters and have the financial means then good for them. That's what putter collecting is all about. However, for those who really think that a great way of investing $12,500 is to put that money into some boutique putter then what the heck are you thinking? Putters are generally either carbon steel or stainless steel. In either case, they are not worth much in terms of materials. Therefore they are generally poor investments, especially when gamed, as most are. That said, if anyone decides to invest in putters to add to their financial portfolio then more power to you. As for me, I would rather invest in something of more intrinsic value that is time tested.
