Reminds me of the auctions I see out there for unhit Ram FX Forged blade sets, with a buy it now in the $900-1,000 range.

Those are sexy. If you want to get your hands on these, ask on this board for somebody in Britain. We have members there. Someone might be willing to receive the shipment and then ship to you.

I don't have the Seve's, but I do have a set of the Slazenger Crown Limited Blades that are darn near identical to the Seves. I bought them from a Play-it-again Sports store about 10 years ago. I had Golfworks rechrome them and clean them up. I have the 2-9 and I found the matching Sand Wedge, but I've never been able to find the matching pitching wedge. I never got around to reshafting the 2-9 after I had them rechromed... I was always waiting until I found the matching PW.....one of these days I will have to put a nice set of shafts in them......

As far as I know, yeah, it's always brass. I read something somewhere, and I'm sure one of y'all know for sure if this is BS, that the brass backweighting really didn't do anything, it was more about show/marketing. That because the brass wasn't appreciably denser than the persimmon wood it was replacing? Would love to know if that's true.

I really like the look of persimmon with the brass back weight, so I guess if it doesn't do anything other than look pretty, that is ok by me....

Don't you already have a set of those along with your RAm collection?

282s are one of the Ram sets I've never had. In fact, I've never even seen a set in person. I'm pretty set in Rams so I doubt I'll go out of my way for them, but if I happened to be in the right place at the right time....

My TW276s are similar vintage to the TW282s, both being the Frequency Matched edition.
My TW Custom Grinds, which have the VERY square toe, are also of the Frequency Matched edition.
I should get around to reshafting the latter one of these days.

This is a great but at the same time painfull thread to read. Great because I get to see some wonderful old irons/woods and, discover irons I had not seen before. Painfull because I keep comming back to watch those Wood Brothers drivers drewspin bought. I can't believe I missed those eventhough I check ebay for a Texan everyday. And that Australian driver is nuts! Is there any way I can persuade you into selling it to me drewspin? Here's a great set of irons I spotted on ebay not too long ago, but didn't bid on. Another regret. Did anyone here pick these MacGregor VFQ's from 1961 up? They look in almost new condition: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180382514336&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
