I own and enjoy working on the older 1950's MacGregor Persimmon woods. Does anyone know of a "Golf Discussion Forum" that shares experience and knowledge on this subject freely? Is there anyone out there that would like to start one here at "Golf Discussions"? The club below is one of a set of 1955 MacGregor Tourney MT M85W's I have recently acquired. I also own and helped restore some 1950-51 MacGregor Tourney Tommy Armour M43's. Look several topics down within this section to see pictures of them. I intend to play with them this summer.

I know there are a couple of guys on the GD board that are pretty good at refinishing persimmon woods, but I can't remember who they are.  I have refinished a few, but I would have to classify myself as a novice or amateur in wood refinishing craft.

Is the Mac pictured your next project?

K.I.S.S. refers to me.  I have a tendency to over think everything or make simple things complicated.  It is basically a daily reminder to try to keep things simple.  I have it pasted on my computer at work too.

I just love this classic equipment thread.....it goes in spurts.  Nothing will get posted for a while and then like this weekend everyone is posting pics.....I just love all of the classic collectors equipment everyone has.....

The Classic Equipment sub-forum is the best thing about GD IMHO.

I will admit to a bias.  Grin

In honor of the recent activity and the recent newcomers, I will take my all Ram bag (nearly all Golden Ram, except for the SW) out for my next time on the course.
(was going to do it anyway, but we'll just gloss over that for now)

Vibration Matched Golden Rams.  Rifle 6.5.  SW will either be a Troon or the TW855 I normally use.

I don't have my TW Customs shafted up yet, nor bent upright to my lie specs.  wink
