Here's a very neat little chart to aide in determining the headweight of an assembled putter from www.RalphMaltby.com:

The part that I don't understand, is that Maltby's new putters have head weights around or above 400g.  That means anybody using a putter longer than 32.5" will be above the swing weight range that he recommends.  uhm

Neat chart, but......I doubt you will ever see me using a 320 gram head, as I prefer a 35" length.

the other thing to keep in mind is grip weight can many times act as a counterbalance for swing weight

I don't know the headweight of the Alpha RX putter I won in the Monthly Giveaway here at GD almost 1 1/2 years ago, but it's been in the bag since. It IS a heavy head, and he shafted it with a double-bend shaft at 35"+. I used 14 wraps to build up the grip, and slipped the Winn Medalist over it. There's a whole lot of backweight under my hands, so it's got a real nice balance to it - can't see it going anywhere in the near (or far) future, it's that smooth.

I guess I'm okay with liking my 33 1/2 350 gram putters.

Great chart and great reference.

Now you just have to find me a chart that tells me how to putt, lol.
