Yep, looks to be his 425TP/Blueboard combo he was using last year. 10.5º as I recall. Stack and tilt needs the extra loft apparently?

I wish I could make out what head that is CHIII has for that 3 wood. TM shaft, but what head?

I know that this should not irk me but it does.
Howell is hitting T/M driver and fairway but puts the Bridgestone cover over them.
The way I look at it you can go one of three ways -
1. Tell Bridgestone you will use one of their drivers/fairway when they design one you can hit and will not use their cover as it does not represent the company beneath it.
2. Use the headcovers that represent those clubs/companies. After all he is probably getting tee up money.
3. Use generic headcover and sell advertising space on it. I'm actually surprised if this is not already being done.

I know we had a thread in the past where Vijay spoke about equipment contracts and how they could be a detriment to a lesser player. It appears Howell has a bit of juice as his contract apparently is not demanding him to play their woods, however it still strikes me as a bit duplicitous.

Jay, if you read this could you offer up some of thoughts as you have sponsorship.
How would Cally react if one club was just not getting the job done for you.

I think most of the "bag" deals include using the headcovers. I agree, it seems silly to mask the true identity of the clubs, but most golf viewers don't delve into equipment like we do, so it's all about perception being reality.

If you ever get to see the people from Darrel Survey doing a club count, they take all the covers off all the clubs.  The wrong headcover on the club thing is pretty prevalent.

If you were paying someone to play your clubs and they chose to play something else, wouldn't you at least want them to have the decency to make it appear to be yours.  Nothing say's awkward like a Nike Staffer bag with an
Adam's headcover.  hunter

the sponsor would not be happy to say the least
but lets remember this is the first event of 2008 and some of these guys  have not got dialed into the product of there new sponsors yet.

I would imagine it would be tough for a pro to dial in equipment.  Roll Eyes

What have these guys been doing for the past 3 months in their off time? You'd think they would at least swing the new stuff for a bit before the season started, I dunno...

R35

PS...speaking of 08 equipment, can I have your driver when you upgrade Jay?

I noticed at the tournament out here the last few years there were a fair number of drivers that didn't match the headcovers.  One company in particular seemed to have alot of non-matching driver/headcovers, lol.
