Sony supposedly dumped her to. Don't be surprised to see her still carrying the Sony bag. Camp Wie doesn't want questions about it.

Here we go again... thinking she can do whatever she wants...

Wouldn't that actually create MORE questions since everyone knows they dumped her?

Yes, but we are talking the Wie's here. A lot of what they do doesn't make sense.

April 19, 2009

Golf World reports in its current issue that a sponsor has dropped her.
But she still wants to play against the men on the PGA Tour, telling the Korea Times:

"I look forward to playing on the LPGA, but if given another chance to play on the PGA I will consider it."

That Wie has chosen to advertise her interest in "another chance" is probably a good sign that such offers from PGA Tour tournament organizers may have finally dried up. Instructor David Leadbetter has been very vocal over the past 18 months or so in blaming many of Wie's swing problems since late 2006 on her insistence on playing against PGA Tour players.

Meantime, Ron Sirak reports in this week's Golf World (no link available) that Sony has dropped its sponsorship of Wie, which was earning Wie $5 million a year. Sirak says Wie may continue carrying a Sony bag anyway.

April 26, 2009 - Michelle finished tied for 10th in Mexico.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/sports_blog/2009/05/michelle-wie-still-thinking-about-the-masters.html

Michelle Wie ... still thinking about the Masters?

Michelle Wie is still dreaming of winning a tournament on the PGA Tour and playing in the Masters.

"You know, like I always say, dream high and stuff, set your goals up high, and I think it's definitely -- I'm not saying it's an easy goal to achieve," she said when asked about winning a men's event.

"...It's one of those long-term goals where I see myself getting to."

Of course, another long-term goal has been winning any tournament at any level. Her last victory was as a 13-year-old wunderkind in the USGA Women's Public Links.

This year, the 19-year-old's first on the LPGA Tour, hasn't given any indication that Wie is ready to collect a first-place check on either tour. She finished second in her first event, in her home state of Hawaii, and has finished 57th, 67th, 10th and 15th in subsequent LPGA tournaments. She is in Clifton, N.J., for this week's LPGA Sybase Open.

Maybe Wie will one day compete effectively in a men's event. But maybe she should be thinking a little more short-term than long-term these days. Speaking about winning on the PGA Tour at this point borders on delusional

i think it takes awhile to get away from their ideas.  just because shes grown doesnt mean shell immeadiatly change her mind and disagree with her parents.

Then she is not normal, all teens disagree with any idea a parent has laugh

at this point she would be lucky to win on the LPGA

I believe that Michelle needs to spend more time with a mental conditioning coach than anything else.

The US Women's Open will be Wie-free. Michelle missed out in sectional qualifying today and the USGA would need to change their rules to be able to offer her a special exemption at this late date.

U.S. team happy to have Michelle Wie on board

As if being a rookie selected as a captain's pick -- a semi-controversial pick at that -- wasn't enough, Michelle Wie's first drive in front of her new teammates at Rich Harvest Farms couldn't have gone any worse.

"I blocked my first tee shot and said, 'I'm sorry!' " Wie said with a laugh. "And they were like 'No, we don't say sorry out here. We've got your back.' I think that's really special."

Those were the words the youngster was waiting to hear because no one, including Wie, knew what kind of reception the LPGA rookie would receive from her new teammates.

"Being a captain's pick, sometimes you wonder, do I really deserve this? Am I the right one?" Wie said. "But everyone's come up to me and said, 'I'm really glad you made it.' It's just nice to know these girls have my back."

It didn't happen all at once, though.

"When she first got here you could tell that she wasn't one of the peers," said course owner and designer Jerry Rich. "Now they're giving high-fives and patting each other on the back. They're really coming together as a team and she feels she's part of the team now.

"We all hoped that she'd make it. She's just a wonderful young lady. I think she's really going to shine."

If the swarm of media surrounding her Wednesday is any indication, Wie already has arrived. But her popularity is a mixed blessing for U.S. captain Beth Daniel.

Sure, it's good to have a household name on the team to attract fans and media to the Solheim Cup, but at what cost to the other team members and team chemistry as a whole?

"She got so much media attention by playing in the men's events and there was all this debate about was she doing the right thing, was she doing the wrong thing, is she getting too much, is she not getting enough?" Daniel said.

"I think that's important because I can't send one person out the week of the Solheim Cup and win it. I need 12 people all on the same page trying to achieve the same thing and I have twelve people who are on board with it, and that's very important.

"I do not want this to turn into a Michelle Wie Solheim Cup because it's not about her, and she understands that."

Teammate Christina Kim thinks Wie will fit in just fine and all the bluster surrounding her arrival will soon fade.

"People are really starting to embrace her and really getting to know her," Kim said. "They're seeing her for the first time for who she really is, which is an incredible human being with a huge heart."

And someone who's at the place she wants to be. Finally.

"It was one of my biggest goals," Wie said of making the Cup team. "It's been fun living in one house, eating at the same time; it's just been such a great experience.

"I just cannot wait for the real thing."

It's going to be great for Michelle to participate in her 1st event without her parents hanging around. I read somewhere that Beth Daniels banished them from team's hotel, meeting and dining room. I think it'll enable her and other LPGA players to get to know each other better.

I still firmly believed that her controlling parents are behind many of Michelle's bad decisions and situations.
