Here's a bunch of nonsense
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/golf/7256226.stm

Quote
Long-term wrist problems hit Wie

Teenager Michelle Wie has revealed she will never regain full fitness because of the wrist problems that have blighted her game in recent years.
At the start of her career, Wie, 19, made a big impact, even playing in men's events, but lately she has been hampered by injury and poor form.
"After a major injury last year it is never going to be the way it was before," she said.
"I just accepted the fact that it is never going to be 100% ever again."
Wie endured a miserable run of form and luck in 2007, injuring both wrists and only making three cuts.
In nine tournaments, she was forced to withdraw twice and only broke par twice in 19 rounds against women.
The American said it was pointless focusing on what went wrong last year and she now wants to look forward and would not rule out playing against men again in the future.
"I'll have to see how it goes," she added. "It depends how I play.
"I'm not going to say I'm not going to play. I'm going to have to see. I'm not really sure what's going to happen this year."

Who is this woman's fitness trainer? -- Wie had a fractured wrist -- unless something really odd happened -- rest and strengthening the bone/muscle and maybe accupuncture - are going to help.

She is one doom and gloom person.

Frankly, I don't "get it" -- she and her team -- they are always putting her in a position to look bad.

With that attitude, as to her wrist and game, she won't win.

It is always someone else's or something else's (wrist) fault.

When she owns her faults, maybe she'll win.

Must have used a Vardon grip.

This is just her and Nike pre-spinning things. If she comes out and shoots 82 again they want to have the wrist as an excuse, so they need to lay the seeds early.

For the docs here: what if she injured the growth plate, would that linger on and make it possible she is still not healed?

Growth?

Except for her breasts, how can the woman grow any longer?

She looks as tall as nature intended -- the only way she can grow is out.

Yeah, I don't see that having any effect. My wife broke the growth plate in one of her pinkies when she was young, so she's got this one finger that is still kind of child-sized. But Wie injured her wrists after she had finished growing, so I don't see how that could even factor in.

I agree with what Joe said. This is a cop-out and a pre-excuse. This is their way of saying "She's probably going to play like sh*t, so we just want to let you know that it's because of the wrist injuries that, incidentally, shouldn't be having an effect anymore, but try not to pay attention to that".

I wonder if she will finish without blowing it?

No way! She's actually living up to her hype? Even with the pre-excuse? shocking

Michelle, -4 after 17 holes...  Could it be? Nah.

Kelli Kuehne is leading with -6 after only 12 holes.

Bogey on 18 to post -3. Though I am more than happy to giggle with everybody else about the Wiesel, She is under par and in the clubhouse and I have to give her a little bit of credit for today.

I cant wait to see the train wreck that is certain to follow.

When watching the highlights of todays golf, DO NOT FORGET to mute the TV as undoubtedly they will interview her and let her speak.... Its worse than listening to Magic Johnson and John Madden announce a game!    russian

If you check out the full story on the PGA Tour website you will find this little gem:

Wie is enjoying life at Stanford where she is a freshman and wrapping up her winter quarter. She lives in a dorm, eats chicken and tofu in the cafeteria and takes early morning or night classes so she can practice during the day. Her courses include Japanese, humanities and a hip-hop dance class.

I am really concerned that her golfing ability is going to be impaired by her unbelievable class load!   shocking  Three whole classes is really tough to pull off.  I am really amazed that the ailing wrist has not impacted her in the hip-hop dance class!  cheesyf

You just really have to feel sorry for her and the terrible hand she has been dealt in life!  whist

It looks flatter, but what stands out is that her old rhythm is still gone. Her pre-Ledbetter swing was so smooth, it looked like she had been born to swing a club. The last couple of years it looked like a disjointed series of jerks and twitches. I thought if anything good came out of the debacle of last year it would be that she would have learned that she needed to recapture the old swing. Nope.

A birdie at 17 has her tied for last instead of dead last, but she did make the cut so I guess she'll get a nice fat check for around $1500 or so.  whist

The collapse did come, just later than we all expected. But, when she did collapse, she did so quite dramatically.

Amazing how she could look like the Michelle of old on Day 1, and then look like the Michelle of last year again on Day 3...
