tgc hires "talent" that is decent enough. "talent" they don't have to pay well. "talent" they can bend over and take advantage of repeatedly because said "talent" knows this is the best gig they can get.

So .......it appears that the key for a change is with advertisers. Potential loss of revenue is the only thing that is going to catch someone's attention.

I guess that I'll have to quit buying all of that infomercial stuff then.  laugh

In the end, more than freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all – security, comfort, and freedom. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free and was never free again.

If you would like to voice your opinion on your perception of Inga Hammond and what she brings or doesn't bring to the Golf Channel program, "The approach with Callaway Golf", here is a name that you can write to.

Nick Wright
Editor-In-Chief
Callaway Golf Magazine

nwright@macduffgroup.com

My comment to Mr. Wright essentially was that I was amazed that a premium quality company like Callaway Golf would be represented by such a poor talent as Ms. Hammond.

I finally saw this woman on TGC and was stunned, how right the comments are on this thread.

There was an interesting segment on Chicago sports broadcasters on our local Comcast Sportsnet channel the other day.  Hawk Harrelson, who knows that some people don't like his style, simply said that he was told early in his career that you will never please everybody, so just be yourself.

You can also apply that to everyone mentioned here from TGC.  No one is going to like everybody and I doubt there is ONE person at TGC that appeals to everyone here across the board.  That said, Inga Hammond just might be the exception to the dislike rule.  I personally find her style VERY annoying and teamed up with that bow-tie wearing doofus Alex Micelli, well, that show is unwatchable for me.

As for the other Golf Channel announcers, I really don't have a huge dislike for any of them.  Yeah, Mr. Bedroom Eyes Rich Lerner is as sappy as they get, but he is tolerable.  Adam Barr rates pretty high on the barf-o-meter for me, but even he has some interesting stuff occasionally.  The rest of them -- Kelly Tilghman, Megan West, Steve Sands, Ian Paige, et al.  really don't bother me one way or the other.

The one guy I do like -- Brian Hammons  -- doesn't do Golf Central anymore and that's too bad.  I would watch the entire show just waiting to hear one "DRAINO!!!".   laugh

Keep it in the short grass......
