Check out the Sun Mountain Rainflex gear. By far the most comfortable rain gear I have ever worn. It is a very soft dri-fit like material, so no annoying sounds during the swing (my pet peeve).

I'll second this. The Sun Mountain stuff is fantastic. I picked up a Mizuno Impermalite jacket for cheap last week. The guys at the shop raved over it, saying they sold a boatload of them last year and had none to show me. For the price, I went with it, only because I couldn't find a good price on the SM Rainflex HD. R35 |

I carry a pair of Sunderland of Scotland rain pants and a Galvin Green rain jacket when I know the weather will require. Both work very well. I also have a Footjoy Dryjoy half sleeve that's in the bag at all times. That probably sees the most use.

Galvin Green, if your going to play in the rain it's worth the $$. My half sleeve Sunderland of Scotland slip over is worn up to the point that the rain gets really quite heavy as it fits slightly better although it is not as weather proof as the GG stuff.

The Nike gear from above is still my rain gear of choice, but in 2010 Sunice has some new stuff coming out that I will be trying soon too. They make top quality stuff, usually just a little bit more $$

Adidas's Clima equipment is really pretty nice and comfortable, especially the jackets and vests. That said, I endorse it as a bigger guy. No idea how it would fit somebody sized otherwise.

For regular weather and not too stormy, I like the Sun Mountain Rainflex Top - comfy and warm with a sweater (I prefer the Mizuno Wind Sweater 1/4 Zip). Best Pants I have are definitely the Sun Mountain. Fit Well and not too baggy. Warm, too.
The problem with the Rainflex top is the top no collar and bands on the sleeves -- if the weather really turns bad, the collar stops at just above the base of the neck and the bands on the sleeves stop a the wrist. You've got water dripping onto your hands. I think Zero Restriction Tops are best for terrible weather -- of the ones I've tried. BUT go see Sun Ice for a top -- they have various models made for bad, stormy conditions - I still prefer Sun Mountain overall for comfort, feel and quiet when the weather is not coming at you like the Bishop in Caddyshack.

I haven't looked recently, but the first pair of Nike Storm Fit pants I had zip off the lower pant legs. Worked out great. I only used it once since typically it is cold in MN when we get rain. Other issue with shorts and rain, the feet get soaked. |

True, the collar is about my only problem with the Sun Mountain jacket. If it is really coming down sideways, I will just throw my Zero Restriction short sleeve on over the top of the Sun Mountain. Never had a problem with the sleeves personally. |

You make a great point. The Rainflex sleeves stay out of your way so you can make the shot. Sometimes, simplicity is best. With other brands like ZR, you might have the wrist band loose and getting in your way in the middle of your shot. Can you say "Topped Shot?" |
