So, his 218 yard 6 iron from the bunker at the Canadian Open was ideal conditions?
These numbers that are posted always have me thinking as to how real they are. I'm not questioning anyone's motives, but I bet he's much longer than this.
190 with his 6 iron and only 230 with his 3 iron? My 6 iron is good for about 170 and my 3 iron is about 225. This makes me wonder what's up.

I play my 6 iron at 190 and my 3 iron around 230. When he hit his 6 iron 220 he had wind behind him, but that's still rediculous out of a bunker. Not to mention he has carried his driver 340+ a bunch of times on TV. Those yardages are probably into the wind. -Lucky7

When he rips it, Tiger can carry the 2-iron 280 off the deck. That's insane.

I believe that considering he had 265 to the hole at Baltusrol and hit a 3 iron that hit the green and bounced over...

Driver: 285 yards (of carry) - 280 (total) 3 Wd: 265 yards (of carry) - 255 (total) 2 Iron/5 wood: 245 yards - 230 (total) 3 Iron: 230 yards - 215 4 Iron: 220 yards - 205 5 Iron: 208 yards - 195 6 Iron: 190 yards - 185 7 Iron: 172 yards - 174 8 Iron: 158 yards - 162 9 Iron: 142 yards - 148 Pitching Wedge: 128 yards - 135 Sand Wedge: 106 yards - 110 Lob Wedge (60°): 92 yards - 90
I think some of those - or all of those - are with an easy, no-effort swing. We all know he can hit it MUCH farther when he wants to. However, I find it amazing that some of my irons are right there with what is listed for him, if not longer in a couple cases, but then he pulls ahead of me with the long irons and woods. Does that mean I'm doing something wrong with those clubs?

Nice full flush shots for me, but i usually play 5-7 yards shorter than these to keep my control (85-90% swing). If I constanty play these distances I shoot about 10 strokes worse a round, because I'll get wild with about 1/4 shots. If (a big if) I try to Nuke one, I only hit about 1/5 decent.
Agreed, these are Tiger against a 10-15 wind distance. But it's just scary how accurate he can be.

those are all stock swing yardages probably at 80% he can deloft any club and probably add 15 yards to each one. he will also carry that ball that exact distance 8 out of 10 times.

Agreed, and I'm surprised no one has mentioned lofts. Afaik remember, Tiger still plays "old" lofts , ie his PW is 50/51' rather than the new norm of 46/47'. I actually gre up playing with a guy who would have given Tiger a run and maybe a humbling. This guy could hit driver 300+ carry in 1985 using a 43" Wood with a Dynamic Gold. 5i was about 210-220. mj

Yeah, I definetly have seen him hit PW 150ish on flat lies and such.
Hell I've seen him hit 9iron on 200+ yd par 3's that were slightly downhill.
That time he hit one on the roof of the clubhouse wasn't it like 220yards or more that he had hit it??? then when they did the interview with him, he was like "well I hit a 9 iron a little to strong" or along those lines... 220 9 iron lol, i hit mine like 110-115

Ever wonder what distance Tiger hits each club? Below is a list of what he hits on a normal day with normal conditions. So are you a Tiger ? Lets see your 2007 distances TIGER'S CLUBS: Driver: 285 yards (of carry) 3 Wd: 265 yards (of carry) 2 Iron: 245 yards 3 Iron: 230 yards 4 Iron: 220 yards 5 Iron: 208 yards 6 Iron: 190 yards 7 Iron: 172 yards 8 Iron: 158 yards 9 Iron: 142 yards Pitching Wedge: 128 yards Sand Wedge: 106 yards Lob Wedge (60°): 92 yards I get a kick out of everyone that hits the ball longer than Tiger He starts pulling away with his 6i and longer, but that's me with a perfect swing and swinging as fast as I can. I'd bet these are his smoothed out 85-90% "normal" shots. We've all seen him juice a 7i 190-200 when he felt like he needed to. Also, isn't he playing of a 50 degree PW?

I'm with him in his shorter irons, and I CAN get up to his wood distances, but I would really have to step on one, and he would still be swinging pretty easily. So, no.
