I received information from Grafalloy on the new epic shaft. It sounds like it is made for the better player. Shaft profile: "It has firm tip and will produce a high launch but the ball flight will be mid and less spin on it." The shaft is beginning to ship in mid March.

Camster may know more on these as I think he will be getting some in March. I don't know much about them, but I know at least one pga tour player last week had one in play. I'm looking forward to hearing more about them.

That sounds like a good bend profile. I'm very interested in trying this shaft out.
Mark Hensby and Michael Bradley had it in their drivers at the ATT Pro Am

Rich Beem had it in his driver last week as well.

The feedback I've received has been on the driver shafts that tend to create a high launch & low spin. This shaft is a low kick, but not tip stiff, only firm. The Epic also produces a mid to high ball flight, which I'm told doesn't pose a problem because of the reduced spin, virtually eliminating the "balloon ball." The only negative feedback I received was that to some, the shaft feels a lot like steel. More to come on reviews once I get some in...

More Epic News: A NEW WAY TO LOOK AT DISTANCE AND ACCURACY
Increased distance with a 35% improvement in shot dispersion compared to graphite shafts on the market today.
Introducing Epic by Grafalloy. A new material...an entirely new level of performance. Epic is the first shaft to incorporate nanotechnology into a design so advanced it's literally broken the mold.
In a time when most shafts are primarily improvements upon existing designs, Epic featuring Nanofuse technology is a revolution in materials, design, and performance. Our engineeres set out to utilize the full design opportunities provided by nanotechnology to create a shaft material combining the consistency and accuracy of a steel shaft with the distance and feel advantages of graphite. The result is Epic.
NANOFUSE SHAFT TECHNOLOGY
Epic represents the first sporting goods product that has been truly enabled by advances in nanotechnology. Our proprietary Nanofuse material is created by harnessing the superior strength properties of nano-crystalline metals and fusing them at the molecular level with a composite polymer substrate. The result is an entirely new high-performance shaft material that offers increased distance with a 35% improvement in shot dispersion compared to graphite shaft on the market today.
STRENGTH EQUALS DISTANCE
Nanofuse material dwarfs the strength of traditional shaft materials. Its strength properties even exceed "exotic" materials like titanium found in most driver heads on the market today. This incredible strength enables the design of a superlightweight shaft that delivers explosive distance shot after shot.
THE EPIC EFFECT
35% improvement in shot dispersion compared to graphite, 15-20 yards closer. Through extensive robotic and player teset data, Epic has not only shown to deliver increased distance off the tee, but alos a 35% improvement in shot dispersion compared to graphite shafts on the market today. This combined improvement in distance and accuracy puts you as much as 15-20 yards closer to the pin off the tee.

The high torque would seem to fit a wide range of SS, may be a shaft that works well for mere mortals w/ SS under 100 mph.
